SpecialityChief Commercial Officer HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC)
Rob became Chief Commercial Officer for HMRC in November 2017. His role is to provide strategic leadership and direction for all of the Department's commercial arrangements covering c£1.5bn annual external spend and to inform HMRC's strategy with commercial insight.
Rob is a member of the Cross-Government Commercial Function Leadership Group which aims to raise levels of commercial capability and leverage governments total spend, market knowledge and supplier relationships to deliver Departmental outcomes and Government policy.
Rob sits on the Civil Service Pension Board and on HMRC's Strategy Committee and Change Investment and Design Committee.
Prior to joining HMRC, Rob was a Managing Director at Accenture (2006-2017) also leading UK Inclusion and Diversity programmes and was champion of the Ethnic Networks. He worked with Executive Teams on transformation programmes across Financial Services, Telco, Media and Public Health sectors. He enjoyed living and working internationally during his consulting career - notably in the United States, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Africa and the Netherlands.
He has been recognised for leadership excellence externally - by the Green Park / The Times (Top 100 BAME Leaders in the UK - 2018, 2019) and by the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (Procurement Powerlist - 2020).
Rob lives in West London with his wife Tracey and three children. He holds a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Birmingham University and is a keen guitarist and cyclist.
